Mini Hats

I couldn't sleep again last night, so after one whole hour of sleep and wide awake I decided to combine several mini hat making techniques to make this one.  This was  my first one and I already see some things I could do much better.  Good start though :)

 I used only what I had around the craft room.  This one was made completely out of ribbon.

These hats were really fun to make, and I plan to make more and improve on my skills.

Okay, I thought this crackle paint effect would be easier!

I'm testing the colors I intend to use.

The shiny color is NOT working out!

Insomnia was at work last night

...so I decided to paint an old music box for the house

 Base coat of white... Done!

 Octagon shingles on each side, and base coat painted.

 Interior Doors are in!

 These doors were not in the kit.  I purchased these doors from Hobby Lobby.

 The Butterfly House

 This week I used some scrap molding I had. It was a little large for the house, but I'm looking for slightly whimsical here.

I first painted the molding with the darker color, and then dry brushed some light pink, and white.

 I also painted the interior window molding.

I decided with this house, that I would paper all rooms BEFORE assembly.

I used scrap booking paper for all my rooms this time.

I found this book of scrap paper dedicated to butterflies!
